2065 Flying Fingers is an amazing instrumental guitar album, composed and performed by the number one Chinese axeman Powell Young. Young is currently teaching Er-Hu and oriental traditional percussion at the Beijing Chinese Opera college, where he also developed his own guitar skills and found a way to mix Chinese traditional music with shred, fusion and heavy metal. As a guitarist, Powell is influenced by virtuosos such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Gary Moore, Frank Gambale, Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe, Ritchie Kotzen and Jason Becker. On October 10, 2002, Powell opened for Satriani, jammed with Joe at his Taipei live concert, and got to show his incredible guitar technique in front of 2000 guitar fans. Powell Young is the first Chinese guitarist to become offered an endorsement deal with Musicman Guitars. Highly recommend by Joe Satriani. |
