AOR artist and songwriter best known for the PAT BENATAR hit 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot' and HELIX's 'Does A Fool Ever Learn'. Toronto born Schwartz originally cut his first record foe ATV Music. When this company went into liquidation major label A&M Records brought the album. The debut 'Schwartz' album found Schwartz working with drummer Jörn Andersen, ROUGH TRADE bassist Terry Wilkens, Nona Hendryx and keyboard player Dave Tyson. Guitarist RICK DERRINGER also sessions. 1981's follow up 'No Refuge' included guitarist Peter Follett, bassist Bob Wilson and drummer Gary Craig.
Derringer returned for the 1984 Tony Bongiovi / Dave Tyson produced 'Public Life' album. Follett and Craig also contributed. A lengthy period out of the public eye found Schwartz still working in the studio producing THE DOOBIE BROTHERS 1990 record 'The Doctor'. Schwartz has also produced two albums for GOWAN. |
