When Doogie met up with Yorkshire guitarist Ashley Limer, he once again felt he wanted to be part of a band.  Recruiting Jem Davis from Midnight Blue on keyboards, he formed Chain.

Ex Rainbow vocalists solo album recorded under the band name Chain in 1997. This is a private pressing by Doogie made available for distribution for the first time. As expected, the album is very Rainbow-esque: understandable considering that the year before Doogie sang on Rainbows album Strangers Within Us & toured with the band worldwide.
